Strongest Sport Competition in years
Jonny Clayton is the defending champion, having defeated Mervyn King 11-8 in a closed-door final last year.
Michael van Gerwen holds the record for most wins with five, while James Wade, Phil Taylor, Peter Wright, and Clayton each have one.
In this year's race, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Ryan Searle, Luke Humphries, and Gabriel Clemens will make their debuts, while Devon Petersen replaces the injured Nathan Aspinall and Simon Whitlock replaces Danny Noppert, who also withdrew.
Gerwyn Price, the world number one, is aiming for his first title, while Gary Anderson, a two-time World Champion, and Michael Smith, a two-time World Finalist, are also among the seeds.
Fans will be able to watch all the matches live online, from anywhere at no geo-blocking.
From January through October 2022, the PDC calendar will feature almost 150 days of darts action, including a return to a full schedule of ET events and an enlarged Women's Series.
The ET will return to 13 meetings across the continent in 2022, including maiden visits to Belgium and Germany, after being disrupted in 2020 and 2021.
Seven tournaments will be held in Germany, with travels to Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Austria, as well as a return to the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar for the year's final competition.
Twenty tournaments will be held at facilities across the UK and Germany as part of an extended PDC Women's Series, with spots in TV, including the 2022/23 World Championship, on offer.
